Fruit Punch

Photographer: Ashley Holloway | Facebook fanpage | Tumblr Page | Flickr Profile

Hello, I am Ashley, a female photographer from United States.

Fruit Punch” is part of a fashion editorial that I shot in the summer. It was inspired by the playful nature of summer and a bounty of fruit! I’m usually bored by shooting “sexy” swimsuit fashion stories, so I wanted to create something fun and unique. I had found out that different kinds of fruit would float in water and that sounded like something really fun to do for an editorial story! It was shot in a pool and I used an Olympus E-3 and their 50mm 2.0 lens with all natural light. Post-processing included raw development with Lightroom 3 and color grading and retouching done in Photoshop CS5.

Never too old for fairytales

I am Christine Lorico. My personal work often is characterized in soft hues and I’ve been told that there’s something nostalgic and whimsical about them.

In the case of “Never Too Old for Fairytales“, I was taking Marina’s photos indoors when I remembered the small vacant lot near my house. I carried my old wooden horse and made her sit in the middle of overgrown grass and vines. I took this shot while she was patiently waiting for my instructions.

This was taken with my old Canon Mark II and processed in Adobe Photoshop CS5.

SoyMilk

Photographer: BeastakenExposures | Deviantart Profile

Hello I am a beginner photographer from Poland.

My photograph was really spontaneous, something I did in the moment. I always come down to my fridge at night and take a sip straight from the bottle because I’m too lazy to pour into a glass. I guess a lot of us do that… I thought it would be fun to add something different to it, so I flew to the fridge instead of simply walking.

Cherish your visions and your dreams

Hello I am KenjiroX . I am a male photographer from Philippines.
This photograph is indeed special because they are my kids (kai and Knate). It is quality time spent with them this summer of 2015, near Laguna lake where there is a fishing port in a town called Marinig Cabuyao Laguna. This is one of my favorite photo walk spots and I just live nearby.

Camera used was a Nikon D5000 with a 50mm lens and the photograph was post processed in Lightroom 5 and on one perfect suite vintage filter.

Myself

Hello I am Laura a female photographer from Poland.

For this photograph titled “Myself” I use Canon EOS 1100, light was from window, as you can see it was sunny day. I made makeup and hair style, jewelry was mine too. The camera was on a tripod, I set the self-timer, so I had time to prepare. At that time, unfortunately I did not have a model, so I decided to take a picture of myself.

Cinematic Escape

Hello I am Joseph Parry. I am a photographer from United Kingdom.

Yeah a funny story about that shot actually, It was about 3am in the morning that I ordered the Sigma 50mm 1.4 ART lens and I realized that due to my excitement and lack of practical appliance of intellect I’d managed to somehow set it up for a delivery that landed over a weekend and then a bank holiday Monday… That wasn’t gonna cut it!

So I dragged my pal Juani out of bed and headed for the shop which was about an hours drive away from me (Clifton Cameras in Dursley for UK people, check them out!!!) I got there and picked up the lens with not only a driving license that was 7 years out of date facially (I got it when I was 17 and now I’m 24!) but I also had my passport, which still wasn’t enough for a pickup… So I had to bring the only thing I could find left in the house. A speeding ticket hahaha!

It all went smoothly, I ran back to the car (which was literally 30 seconds away), put the lens on and BANG took the shot. I process everything in Lightroom first and then Photoshop afterwards. I tend to use Lightroom for the vibe (soft, vivid, monochrome or color etc) then use Photoshop to clean up bags under eyes, spots, hairs etc alongside dodging and burning.

Funnily enough just yesterday I took the lens back along with my camera (700D) and upgraded to a full frame 6D with an 85mm 1.8 instead. The ART is a GREAT lens, but I’m more of an 80mm+ guy, it just suited the cropped sensor at the time).

Lighting was natural, location was a car park, gear was just a Sigma 50 @ 1.4 and a Canon 700D.

Serious Portrait

Serious Portrait

Photographer: Orhan Yilmaz | Deviantart Profile

My name is Orhan Yilmaz and I’m 25 years old photo artist based in Niefern, near to Stuttgart.
I captured this portrait while I took some business pictures for a friend of mine. I’m not a pro in business-portraits, so I started photographing just the way I always do and then this portrait came out.
I get used to following my intuition when I got a photoshoot, so it’s hard for me to describe how I did what I did.

This picture is shot with a Canon 5d Mark II with the Canon 24-105mm f4 L lens. We were outside on the balcony where I used the sun and one reflector to brighten up his face a little more on the darker side, that’s it.

On Photoshop I managed the color and style of the picture and also retouched his face and the background a little.

So, I hope you all love it as much as I do.

Flour #1 – Friendship

Girls with flour Portrait

Photographer: Teelke | Deviantart Profile

My name is Teelke, I am 18 years old and live in Germany.

I discovered photography as a way to express myself about three years ago. Since then I experience a lot and try to create dreamlike and eerie scenes, mostly inspired by some of my favorite books. The feeling they left me with I wanted to express in a picture. This particular picture is from a shooting that I did with one of my closest friends.

We used flour and just played around with it, which lead to a couple of interesting shots. As a scenery we used the attic of our house that I thought to be fitting with its rough, white walls. This time I wanted to capture those delicate, beautiful moments in life where you just feel happy all around and carry the memories of that day through your entire life. That being said, the message that I would like to give is to enjoy the small things in life. Because those are what makes everyday life worthwhile.

As a camera I used a Nikon Coolpix P7100, and afterwards I edited the picture with only some minor changes like cropping and enhancing the contrast.

Photographer: Anna Kononets | Deviantart Profile | 500PX Profile

My name is Anna Kononets. I’m 26 years old. I´m Russian and Czech Republic photographer.

This photo was taken in Russia, the city of Tula, where I live now. The weather was sunny, but very windy. That’s why we decided to use this occasion and make a series of photos with the wind. We had went to Central Park to the pond and took some pictures. The result came out great.

I used Canon 60D and a 50mm 1.8 lens. I enhanced contrast, colors and changed them a little with curves.

So that’s all we have for this week. If you are really enjoying these Weekly showcase then don’t forget to share it and stay updated for our future post by subscribing our website or by following us on Facebook, Twitter and Google+.
